In despite of the title, the only poetic references in this post will be the ones you want to find. So you are welcome to let go. I first created the image not knowing where it would lead me and a title naturally followed.
A pesar del título, las únicas referencias poéticas en este post serán las que querráis encontrar. Así que sois bienvenidos a dejaros llevar. Primero creé la imagen sin saber a dónde me llevaría y luego el título surgió espontáneamente.

I´m working on some sort of representative image for a client, a stylist. Something halfway through an illustration and a logo. Something simple but powerful at the same time. Getting close, I hope.
Estoy trabajando es una especie de imagen representativa para una cliente, estilista. Algo a medio camino entre una ilustración y un logo. Algo sencillo pero con fuerza a la vez. Me estoy acercando, espero.

This is an illustration I did last year for an exhibition. The topic was “Free Love” and my intention was to portray the feeling of freedom that love can give you. I imagined that those touched by love would float above others less fortunate.
After different tryouts, I eventually narrowed it down to 3 possibilities. And I finally picked the first one. I still wonder if I did right…
Esta ilustración la hice el año pasado para una exposición. La temática era “Amor Libre” y mi intención fue reflejar la sensación de libertad que el amor puede proporcionar. Imaginé a aquellos tocados por el amor flotando por encima de otros menos afortunados.
Después de varias pruebas, finalmente reduje las opciones a 3. Y terminé decidiéndome por la primera. Aún me pregunto si hice bien…

Just before posting this illustration, a commission for a fashion magazine, I suddenly realized I had to give it a title… and the first thing that came to my mind was that old Cure song, Plastic Passion: “Plastic passion is a gold guarantee, plastic passion is murdering me…”
Justo antes de postear esta ilustración, un encargo para una revista de tendencias, me dí cuenta de que tenía que ponerle un título… y la primera cosa que se me vino a la cabeza fue una antigua canción de The Cure, Plastic Passion: “Plastic passion is a gold guarantee, plastic passion is murdering me…”

As I hinted on my previous post, I believe having already my own portfolio site, this blog has to show unseen bits and pieces of my work.
So I´m posting my basic process of work when I´m commissioned an illustration: sketch, rough coloring to show the client and final version. Obviously there´s a lot of work before, during and after what is shown!
Como ya comenté en el post anterior, ya que ya tengo una web con ilustraciones, este blog debería mostrar partes “ocultas” de mi trabajo.
Así que aquí tenéis un proceso simplificado de trabajo cuando recibo un encargo: boceto, coloreado básico para enseñar al cliente y la versión final. Obviamente hay mucho más trabajo antes, durante y después de lo que véis!
